I just blew up on a Democratic fundraiser, and it felt good

Published by The Fake Engineer at 12:09 am under Politics

I gave Democrats $25 6 years ago and since then they’ve been hunting me down for money. When they call and ask for money, I typically politely decline. However, this time I let the poor guy who called me really have it.
DCCC: Hello, I am looking for [my name].
Me: Yup, that’s me.
DCCC: Hi, this is [...]

Published by The Fake Engineer at 9:32 pm under Politics, Stocks

I rarely blog about politics, but tonight is one of those rare nights I am happy to see a Republican win even though I lean left on the political spectrum. Why Obama reappointed Bernanke

Published by The Fake Engineer at 10:12 am under Politics

During the last few days, you’ve heard various reasons for why Obama reappointed Bernanke to a second term as Fed chairman:

It was the safe choice.
He did a good job.
You want continuity in these uncertain times.
If not Bernanke, then who? Alternatives aren’t so great.

That’s all a big lie. The bottom line is that the Fed owns [...]

If you have any doubt about who is running the show…

Published by The Fake Engineer at 9:55 pm under Politics, Stocks

Hat tip for pointing out the video: The Market Ticker
A few months ago, Senator Dick Durbin pretty much said the obvious about who runs the show. Your Senators are bought and paid for. You get the government that you pay for.

Are you surprised that the Senate blocked a bid to audit the Federal Reserve even [...]

Published by The Fake Engineer at 12:58 am under Politics

My mother just sent me this e-mail and I cannot believe this crap.
Grandma left me a voicemail saying that Obama is a Muslim and that his campaign funding has come largely from terrorists. Is it true? What should we do?
I can’t believe I always have to deal with a bunch of misinformed Republican butt kissing [...]
