Here comes the onslaught
I blogged about this a two years ago. Here we go again.
Woman #1: Do you have a girlfriend?
My mother: Oh yeah…
Me: Uh, mom, you mean, oh yeah that’s a good question, not oh yeah he has a girlfriend.
Woman #2: Do you have a girlfriend?
Me: No.
Woman #2: Do you want one?
Me: They’re too expensive.
Woman #2 (gives me the look): Oh come on. Some girls actually look for love, okay, not food. How old are you?
Me: Almost 25.
Woman #2: Hmm, I was hoping to say that you are still too young, but that doesn’t seem to be the case.
Woman #3 is holding her one year old daughter.
Woman #3 to my mother: Yeah so um, you haven’t had to change your son’s diapers for a long time now, right?
My mother: Oh yeah, it has been very easy raising my son for a long time.
Woman #3: When is he getting married?
My mother to me: When are you getting married?
Me: Er. I don’t know.
