The idea is still alive

My advisor didn’t understand my idea at first and thought it was crazy and stupid. By the end of our little chat I was able to convince him that it was an idea worth pursuing. It is possible that I have created an amazing circuit that is extremely immune to process variations and temperature. He did point out a potential flaw which I have confirmed with simulation results. I do have a potential fix in mind, but it has side effects that are undesirable. Depending on the target specs, this fix may or may not be feasible. Unfortunately, I think the most likely scenario is that I will have to go back to the drawing board.

Meanwhile, I feel that this same idea that I have implemented in my class project may have to be scrapped if I am to further reduce the power consumption of my circuit. I highly doubt that will happen, but I remain open to other circuit topologies. Maybe I’ll stumble across something useful for my research.
